The Mexico national under-20 football team is controlled by the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol Asociación (FMF). The team has won the CONCACAF Under-20 Championship a record thirteen times across its various formats. Mexico has also qualified to the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 15 of the 21 occasions that the tournament has been held.

Mexico's best finish came at the 1977 FIFA World Youth Championship, which was the first ever edition of a FIFA-sanctioned youth tournament. Mexico fell in penalties 8-9 to the Soviet Union after a 2-2 result after extra time in the tournament's final and was awarded the silver medal. Mexico would go on to win another medal at the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup after beating France 3-1 in the third-place match after having been eliminated by eventual winners, Brazil, 2-0 in the semi-final.
