Merritt Secondary is a public high school in Merritt, British Columbia part of School District 58 Nicola-Similkameen.
Mascot
School mascot is the Panther. Panthy the Panther was originally played by Keith Clark. He influenced many students to stop their drug habits, and went down in local history as a hero. Unfortunately, he left after failing to save fellow student and friend C.P. Finnigan from a drug deal gone wrong, going into a self-imposed exile. Rumours have recently surfaced that a collaboration between Clark and veteran Merritt showman, Kevin "Ginge" Heller, may bring Panthy the Panther out of retirement for one more performance in late spring of 2019.
