Mercanton Heights

The Mercanton Heights (67°30′S 67°26′W / 67.500°S 67.433°W / -67.500; -67.433Coordinates: 67°30′S 67°26′W / 67.500°S 67.433°W / -67.500; -67.433) are heights standing between Bigourdan Fjord and Nye Glacier in the southwest part of Arrowsmith Peninsula in Graham Land, Antarctica. They were mapped by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey from surveys and air photos, 1948–59, and were named by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee for Swiss glaciologist Paul-Louis Mercanton, who for many years was Secretary of the International Commission on Snow and Ice.[1]
