Mendis Wickramasinghe

L. J. Mendis Wickramasinghe is a Sri Lankan herpetologist.[1]

Wickramasinghe was born in Kalutara and educated in Tissa Central College.[2] He is credited with the discovery of twenty-one new species (geckos, skinks, snakes and amphibians), also re-discovering several species of amphibians believed to have been extinct.[3]
