Melvin

Melvin is a surname, and a masculine given name derived from the surname. The surname probably arose as a variant of Melville, recorded as early as in the 12th century (as de Maleuin), in the 16th century as Melwin.[1] The Scottish surname is recorded in colonial America in the late 17th century.[2] The given name is recorded since the at least the 1870s (Melvin R. Laird, Sr. 1877-1946).
