Melissodes is a genus of long-horned bees in the family Apidae. There are at least 140 described species in Melissodes.[1][2][3][4][5]

ITIS Taxonomic note:

  • Apparently the gender of Melissodes has always been treated as feminine by bee specialists. However, Doug Yanega (in litt., May 2008) has suggested that the gender should be masculine under ICZN Art. 30.1.4.4. This matter needs further consideration!.[1]
