Mehatpur Basdehra is a town and a Nagar Parishad in the Una District of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is located on the border of Punjab. It is 11 km from the district of Una and 6 km from Nangal.
Demographics
At the time of the 2001 India census,[1] Mehatpur Basdehra had a population of 8,686. Males constituted 54% of the population and females 46%. Mehatpur Basdehra had an average literacy rate of 66%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy was 70% and female literacy 62%. 14% of the population was under 6 years of age.
