Mayfair is an English brand of cigarettess, currently owned and manufactured by Gallaher Group, a subsidiary of Japan Tobacco.

History

Mayfair was re-launched in 1992 with the slogan "A good smoke at a fair price".[1] The brand is Gallaher Group's leading value cigarette brand.[2] Mayfair is one of the least expensive cigarette brands in the U.K., despite its name presumably being chosen to evoke the glamour of Mayfair, the famous London district.[1] By 2007 Mayfair had become the second most popular cigarette brand in the U.K., with total sales of £663 million.[3]

Mayfair is mainly sold in the United Kingdom, but also is or was sold in Ireland, Austria, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Poland, Greece, Australia, Canada.[4][5][6]

The brand is available in seven versions; Fine King Size, King Size or original blue, King Size Smooth Sky Blue Menthol, Superkings, Superkings Menthol and Superkings Smooth. [7]
