Maurice White is a 1985 album by American singer and musician Maurice White released on Columbia Records. The album rose to number 12 upon the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart.[1][3]

Overview

The single "Stand by Me" a cover of the Ben E. King classic got to Nos. 6 & 11 on the Billboard Hot Soul Songs and Adult Contemporary Songs charts respectively.[1][4][5]

Another album cut "I Need You" rose to nos. 20 & 30 upon the Billboard Adult Contemporary Songs and Hot R&B Songs charts respectively. R&B singer Melonie Sexton also went on to issue a cover of "I Need You" in 2001.[6][7][8][1]

The album was made available in a digitally remastered version in 2001, on Columbia/Legacy which includes four bonus tracks.[1]
