Maureen Christa Pojas Wroblewitz (born 22 June 1998)[1] is a Filipino-German fashion model, best known for winning the fifth season of Asia's Next Top Model and representing the Philippines in the competition.[5][6]

Early life

Wroblewitz was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the third of the four daughters of a Filipino mother, Mariefe Pojas Wroblewitz,[7] and a German father.[8][9] She lived in Riyadh for 12 years[8] before relocating to Germany after her mother died.[9] In September 2016, at age 18, she was scouted by a modeling agent on Instagram[10] and moved to the Philippines to pursue a modeling career.[8] Before her participation on Asia's Next Top Model, she was a part-time model and student.[11]

Career

Asia's Next Top Model

After auditioning for Asia's Next Top Model, Wroblewitz was chosen as one of the 14 finalists on the show's fifth season.[12][13] During her run on the show, Wroblewitz received the highest score of the week three times and was one the top three contestants for the cycle's final show alongside contestants Minh Tu Nguyen from Vietnam and Shikin Gomez from Malaysia. Wroblewitz was crowned the winner of the competition during the final episode.[5][14] She was the first representative from the Philippines to win the contest.[15]

As the winner of the competition, she received a Subaru Impreza, a cover and fashion spread in the July issue of Nylon[14] Singapore, and a chance to obtain a modeling contract with Storm Model Management in London.[16]

2017–present

Wroblewitz has guest starred on the Philippines shows Tonight with Boy Abunda, News5, CNN Philippines' The Source,[17] and Rated K.

She is currently the face and ambassador of Asus and Palmolive.[18][19] In September 2018, Wroblewitz appeared on Asia's Next Top Model season 6 as Subaru Ambassador. A week after, she became co-host of the Philippines variety show Eat Bulaga!.[20]

Philanthropy

Wroblewitz is as an ambassador of the ICanServe Foundation, which helps cancer survivors.[18]
