They began studying music at the ages of 4 and 6 years respectively.[5]

Career

Mau y Ricky started their music career playing weekly at a church in a band they co-founded.[5] Mau y Ricky have written songs for singers including Thalía, Leslie Grace,[6] Miguel Bosé, Diego Boneta, Cristian Castro, and Ednita Nazario.[3][7] Mau was one of the song-writers of "Vente Pa' Ca", sung by Ricky Martin featuring Maluma.[8] In April 2018, their song "Mi Mala" with Karol G peaked at 44 on the Hot Latin Songs.[9] At the 2018 Lo Nuestro Awards, Mau y Ricky performed Será and Tan Enamorados with their father Ricardo Montaner.[10]
