Matthew Smith (born 22 November 1999) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for FC Twente, on loan from Manchester City, and the Wales national football team.
Professional career
Born in Redditch, Smith was a youth product of West Brom before moving to the youth academy of Manchester City at the age of 14.[1] On 3 July 2018, Smith moved on loan to FC Twente for the 2018–19 season.[2]
International career
After captaining the youth sides of Manchester City and Wales, Smith received a call-up to the senior Wales national football team on 20 May 2018.[3] He made his debut for Wales in a friendly 0–0 tie with Mexico on 28 May 2018, replacing Tom Lawrence after 81 minutes..[4]
