Matthew Seiyefa mni (born October 17, 1960) is the acting Director General of the Nigerian State Security Service from August 7, 2018, till the present date; he was appointed by Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.[1]

Background & education

He was born on October 1960 in Ekeremor in Bayelsa State, southern Nigeria. He received a bachelor's degree from University of Jos in 1982 and also trained at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Nigeria.[2]

Career

Seiyefa began his career in 1984 when the State Security Service was known as the National Security Organization.[2] He was appointed as director of Institute of Security Studies, Abuja [3] On August 7, 2018, Acting President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo terminated the appointment of Lawal Musa Daura[4] and appointed Seiyefa[5].
