Matteo da Gimara was a Roman Catholic prelate who served as Bishop of Agrigento (1442–1445).[1]
Biography
Matteo da Gimara was ordained a priest in the Order of Friars Minor.[2] On 17 September 1442, he was appointed by Pope Eugene IV as Bishop of Agrigento.[1][2] On 30 June 1443, he was consecrated bishop by Giovanni Rosa, Bishop of Mazara del Vallo.[2] He served as Bishop of Agrigento until his resignation in 1445.[1][2]
