Mary Maitland

Mary Maitland (died 1596) was a Scottish writer believed to be the transcriber of the quarto volume of the Maitland Manuscripts.[1][2]

She was the daughter of Richard Maitland (1496 – 1586).[1]

She married Alexander Lauder of Hatton, Midlothian and had numerous children. George Lauder, one of her sons, gained a considerable reputation as a poet.[3][2]
