Mary Elizabeth Wilson Sherwood

Mary Elizabeth Wilson (1830–1903) was an American author and activist.

She wrote short stories, poetry, several books and contributed to many magazines including The Atlantic Monthly and Harper's Bazar. She was decorated with the insignia of Officier d'Academie.[1]
