Marshall Sykes (born 29 December 1999 in Woodbridge, England) is a Scottish rugby union player who is a Stage 3 Scottish Rugby Academy player assigned to Glasgow Warriors. His usual position is at the Lock position. He was previously at Northampton Saints.[1][2]

Rugby Union career

Amateur career

Skyes plays for Ayr in the Scottish Premiership.[3]

Professional career

Sykes was part of the Northampton Saints academy.[4]

While he was part of the Saints set-up he became involved with the Scottish Exiles at age-grade level.[5]

Sykes graduated to be a Stage 3 player in the Fosroc Scottish Rugby Academy for the 2018-19 season. Stage 3 players are given a professional contract by the Academy. He was placed in the Glasgow academy and assigned to Glasgow Warriors for the season.[6]

International career

Sykes is Scottish qualified via his grandfather.[7]

Sykes has played for Scotland U18 and Scotland U20. He represented Scotland in the 2018 U20 World Championship.[7] With 31 tackles made and none missed in the tournament he was the top defensive player in the Under 20 tournament.[1]
