Markowice [markɔˈvit͡sɛ] (German: Markowitz) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Strzelno, within Mogilno County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-central Poland.[1] It lies approximately 9 kilometres (6 mi) north of Strzelno, 19 km (12 mi) east of Mogilno, 46 km (29 mi) south-west of Toruń, and 49 km (30 mi) south of Bydgoszcz.

It was the birthplace (1848) of the well-known German Classical Philologist Ulrich von Wilamowitz-Moellendorff, born of a German aristocratic family.
