Mario Roberto Cassari

Mario Roberto Cassari (27 August 1943 19 August 2017) was an Italian Roman Catholic archbishop and diplomat.

Cassari was ordained to the priesthood in 1969.

In August 1999, Cassari was appointed titular archbishop of Truentum and consecrated bishop in October that year.

Cassari served as apostolic nuncio to various countries including starting in the Republic of Congo Malta, Botswana, Gabon, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Lesotho, Niger, South Africa, Swaziland, Namibia and Croatia.[1][2]

He retired in December 2016 and remained Apostolic Nuncio Emeritus to Malta until his death the following year.
