One of the six councils that serves the San Francisco Bay area, the Marin Council was formed in 1910. In 1918 it absorbed the Mill Valley and Sausalito Councils.[1]The Marin County's Scouting community was born just six months after the national Boy Scouts of America organization in 1910[2].
