Maria Cecilia Laxa-Pangilinan (born February 25, 1970) is a Filipino comedian and actress. She performed in the 1992 movie "Iisa Pa Lamang" for which she won Best Supporting Actress awards in both the 1992 FAMAS Awards and 1992 Star Awards.

She graduated with a degree of B.S. Social Sciences at the University of the Philippines Manila and earned her Master's Degree in Family Life and Child Development at the University of the Philippines Diliman.

Other miscellaneous works of the actress winning RP and Best Dressed in the 1993 Star Awards and winning Best Supporting Actress in 1998 for her performance in the 1997 film Minsan Lamang Magmamahal for Star Awards and a nomination for Best Actress at The FAMAS awards in 1998 tied with Elizabeth Oropesa.

Education

Laxa attended primary school at St. Theresa's College in Quezon City, De La Salle Santiago Zobel School in Muntinlupa, and Assumption Antipolo. She attended secondary school at Assumption College in Makati. She attended college at The University of the Philippines at both the Manila and Diliman campuses, where she earned a B.S. as a Social Science Major in Behavioral Science and a Master's in Family Life and Child Development.

Family

Maricel is married to Anthony Pangilinan, and the couple have five children: Ella (22 years old), Donny (20 years old), Hannah (19 years old), Benjamin (17 years old), and Solana (8 years old). She also related to Kiko Laxa Ferrer ,who is a filipino author and a talent manager.[1]
