Manukau City AFC are an association football club based in Mangere East, Auckland, New Zealand. Their Massey Road ground lies between Mangere and Otahuhu, close to Middlemore Hospital.
Recent history
Since the club's founding in 1964, Manukau City have grown into a club with 200 people involved across 13 teams.
They have had to overcome 'significant adversity' over the years due to deficient funds.[4] The club's best season in the Chatham Cup came in 2012, when they reached the quarter-finals, but the away trip to Caversham in Dunedin left the club struggling for funds.
The club were consigned to the lower leagues after winning just two of 22 matches in 2014,[5] but recovered to become champions of the 2016 Lotto Sport Italia NRFL Division Two under the management of former national coach Kevin Fallon.[6]
