Mahtaş is a village in Tarsus district of Mersin Province, Turkey. It is situated in Çukurova and to the south of Tarsus.. At 36°53′N 34°56′E / 36.883°N 34.933°E it is almost merged to Tarsus. Its distance to Mersin is about 30 kilometres (19 mi).. The population of village is 307 [1] as of 2011.
