Manpura Island is an island in the northern Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh, at the mouth of the Meghna river.[1] It is part of Manpura upazila, Bhola District.[2] The island has experienced pirate attacks.[3] The island has an area of 373 km2. Other major offshore islands of this region are Bhola Island (which is the largest) and Hatia Island. All of these islands are densely populated.

Cultural significance

The island was featured as the setting of the movie Monpura.
