Mama Africa, stylized as Mama Africa: The Diary of an African Woman, is the second studio album by Nigerian singer Yemi Alade. It was released on March 25, 2016, by Effyzzie Music Group. The album is the follow-up to her debut album, King of Queens (2014).[1] It features guest appearances from P-Square, Sarkodie, Sauti Sol, Flavour N'abania, Rotimi Keys, DJ Arafat and Selebobo, with production from GospelOnDeBeatz, DJ Coublon, Selebobo, Philkeyz, BeatsByEmzo, Masterkraft, Rotimi Keys and Mr. Chidoo.

The album's release was preceded by the singles "Na Gode", "Do As I Do", and "Ferrari". It was made available for pre-order on iTunes a week before its official release.[2] Yemi Alade announced that proceeds from the sale of the album will go to the FeedAChild charity project.[1] The deluxe edition of the album was released on April 6, 2016, and features guest vocals from South African musicians Bucie and AKA.[3]

"Tumbum" is featured on the 2017 video game Just Dance 2018.

Critical reception

The album has gotten mostly positive reviews from the critics, Chiagoziem Onyekwena of Filter Free awarded the album 7.8/10 adding, "Yemi has managed to craft a collection of songs that have the potential to appeal to fans in every African country close to the equator."[4]
