Catherine Malandrino is a French fashion designer. She was born in Grenoble, France and now splits her time between New York City, Paris and the south of France.

Biography

After graduating from Esmod Paris, she learned in Parisian Couture houses Louis Féraud and Emanuel Ungaro, Et Vous and then joined Diane Von Furstenberg in New York. In 1998, she created her own fashion house in the city blending French romance and American pulse. In 2001, her Flag collection made Catherine a worldwide fashion sensation. On September 11, the Flag dress became the symbol of strength and feminity for American women and has been worn by countless celebrities including Meryl Streep, Madonna, Halle Berry, Katy Perry, Mary J. Blige

In August 2013, "Bluestar Alliance, LLC and Tahari ASL bought the Catherine Malandrino brand" "from Tahari ASL. Catherine Malandrino stepped out of the group as creative director to explore new facets of fashion and style.
