Make Me Yours

"Make Me Yours" is a 1967 song written by Bettye Swann (Betty Jean Champion) and produced by Arthur Wright,[1] which became a crossover hit for the Louisiana-born Swann. The single went to number one on the Billboard "Hot R&B" chart for two weeks in July 1967 and also peaked at number twenty-one on the pop singles chart.[2]

Hill (A Whole Lot of Soul/ 1967), Mary Wells (Servin' Up Some Soul/ 1968), Ann Peebles (This is Ann Peebles/ 1969), Denise LaSalle (medley with ""Precious, Precious" and "Trapped by a Thing Called Love") (Unwrapped/ 1979), Vaneese Thomas (Soul Sister Vol 1/ 2009) and Syleena Johnson (Rebirth of Soul/ 2017).[3] "Make Me Yours" was also recorded by High Inergy for their 1980 album Hold On from which it was the sole single release peaking at #68 R&B.[4] The song had earlier served as a 1979 single release by Jackie Moore (#72 R&B).[5]
