Makanza Territory
Makanza Territory is an administrative area in Équateur Province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.[1] It lies along the main channel of the Congo River.[2] Headquarters for the territory is the town of Makanza.[3] the territory was created by presidential oreder on 6 October 1976.[4]
In the early 21st century bandits operated in the area.[5]
Climate
The average temparature is between 23° and 25° Celsus. The average annual rainfall is between 1700 mm and 1900 mm.[6]
Administrative divisions
Makanza Territory is divided into three administrative divisions or "sectors":[2]
- Bangala, with 4 sub-groupings (groupements) and 34 villages;
- Mweko, with 2 sub-groupings (groupements) and 21 villages;
- Ndobo, with 4 sub-groupings (groupements) and 17 villages.
