Seremban Municipal Council (Malay: Majlis Perbandaran Seremban, abbreviated MPSNS) is a local authority in Malaysia which administers Seremban town and surrounding areas such as Senawang, Rasah, Mambau, Seremban 2, Seremban 3, Bandar Ainsdale, Bandar Sri Sendayan, Sikamat, Ampangan and Paroi. This agency is under the Negeri Sembilan State Government. MPSNS are responsible for public health and sanitation, waste removal and management, town planning, environmental protection and building control, social and economic development and general maintenance functions of urban infrastructure. The MPSNS main headquarters is located at Jalan Yamtuan in Seremban town. The council is expected to have a name change to Seremban City Council (Majlis Bandaraya Seremban) [1][2][3][4] in January 2019 once Seremban is officially declared as a city. This will also include the merging of Nilai Municipal Council (Majlis Perbandaran Nilai) into Seremban Municipal Council.

President of Seremban Municipal Council
From 1954, the Council was led by a President who was in office on a yearly basis, occasionally sitting for more than a year. On 23 July 1965, the head of the Council was handed over to the current Menteri Besar at the time. [5]

Following the Local Governments Act 1976 (Akta Kerajaan Tempatan 1976), the head of the Council was referred to as Yang DiPertua. The trend of the Council was headed by the sitting Menteri Besar was overturned in 1998 where the head of the Council was an independent individual. [6]
