Sayyid Mahmoud al-Hassani al-Sarkhi (Arabic:السيد محمود الحسني الصرخي) (born 1964) is an Iraqi Twelver Shia Marja'.[1][2][3] He has studied in seminaries of Najaf, Iraq under Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Mohammad Sadeq al-Sadr and Ali al-Sistani.
In 2014, supporters of al-Sarkhi engaged in deadly firefights with Iraqi security forces.[4]
Ijtihad
He got ijazah for ijtihad from Grand Ayatollah Bashir Najafi.[5]
