Magda Gad

Magda Gad, born 17 October 1975 in Falun, is an Egyptian-Swedish[1] war correspondent writing for Expressen. She has also written for We, cafe,[2] Aftonbladet, Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet, Modern Psychology, and Läkartidningen.

She came to international prominence in June 2016 by covering the assault on Mosul in Iraq, where she reported the war against ISIL in Iraq.

Awards

In 2015 Gad was named to the Journalist of the Year (2015) in Sweden. She also won the Cordelia Edvardson Prize (2016),[3] Wendelas award (2016),[4] and a Distinguished Writing Award of the European Press Prize (2016).[5]
