The Macedonia cricket team is a fledgling cricket team which represents the nation of Macedonia in International Cricket competitions.
In April 2018, the ICC granted full Twenty20 International (T20I) status to all its members. Therefore, all Twenty20 matches played between Macedonia and another international sides after 1 January 2019 will be a full T20I.[2]
Cricket was first played in Macedonia in 2007[1] by members of the country's expat communities from cricket-playing nations. Recently the game has seen an upsurge in popularity, with local people becoming more involved in the sport. Macedonia aim to gain Affiliate membership of the International Cricket Council within 3 years.[2]
Macedonia's capital Skopje will host a European Twenty20 Championship tournament from July 10–17, 2010. The national teams of Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria and Russia as well as a Croatia A team and a Cricket Board of Wales team containing players from Carmel & District Cricket Club, who are the usual hosts of the tournament.[3] This tournament will be Macedonia's debut in international cricket.
