MIX5 was a Latin American band formed on December 11, 2016, after becoming the winning members of the second season of the La Banda singing competition series created by Simon Cowell and produced by Ricky Martin.[1][2][3]

They participated in the second season of La Banda.[1] The second season ended with a band mixed of three boys and two girls; composed of Brian Cruz (17), (Cuba), Taishmara Rivera (17), (Puerto Rico), Christian Castro (22), (Puerto Rico), Danelly Hoyer (21), (Mexico-USA), and Garmandy Candelario (21), (Dominican Republic).

MIX5 was formally announced as a group on the Univision website after winning the competition.[4]
