Personal life

Islam married Nasreen Islam, niece of diplomat Tabarak Hussain. They have three daughters Nitalie Islam, Bitalie Taskin Islam and Kajalie Shehreen Islam. Kajalie was married to Shudeepto Ariquzzaman, son of actor-politician Asaduzzaman Noor.
