Lynne Viola is a leading scholar on the Soviet Union. She is a professor at the University of Toronto and has written four books and 30 articles. In 2014, she was inducted into the Royal Society of Canada. In 2018, she was the recipient of the Thomas Henry Pentland Molson Prize.[1]

Early life

Viola graduated from Barnard College in 1978 and received Ph.D. from Princeton University in 1984.
