Lutfor Rahman Khan Azad is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and the former Member of Parliament.[1]

Career

Azad was elected from Tangail-3 as a candidate of Bangladesh Nationalist Party in 1991, 1996, and 2001. In the three elections he beat Shamsur Rahman Khan Shahjahan, candidate of Bangladesh Awami League and his cousin.[2] He served as the State Minister of Science and Technology in the Second Khaleda Cabinet.[3] He also served as the State Minister for Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment.[4] He also served as the State Minister for Jute,[5] and the State Minister for NGO Affairs.[6]

On 2 January 2010 Azad was made one of the international affairs secretaries of Bangladesh Nationalist Party.[7]
