Luis De Torres Synagogue is the only synagogue in The Bahamas.[1] Named after Luis de Torres, a man assumed by Meyer Kayserling's book Christopher Columbus and the participation of the Jews in the Spanish and Portuguese discoveries (1894), to be a Jewish Marrano who sailed with Christopher Columbus to the New World. This claim has never been substantiated by primary sources. It is situated between two churches.[2]
