Lua Ribeira

Lua Ribeira (born 1986)[1] is a Spanish photographer, based in London.[2] She is a Nominee member of Magnum Photos and was a joint winner of the Jerwood/Photoworks Award in 2018.

Her series Noises in the Blood is about femininity and Jamaican dancehall culture in the UK.[1][2][3][4] It was published as a book in 2017.

Life and work

Ribeira is from Galicia in Spain. She studied documentary photography at the University of South Wales, Newport, UK and graduated in 2016.[1][5]

She joined Magnum Photos as a Nominee in 2018.[6][7]
