Maria Luisa Colombo (born 3 July 1952), best known as Lu Colombo, is an Italian singer.

Life and career

She was born in Milan in 1952. Since childhood she was encouraged by her parents to develop her passion for music. During the 1960s she began to sing and play guitar.

During the 1970s, she was active in theater. She wrote soundtracks and worked in a recording and editing studio. She also worked part-time in a music store as a graphic designer.

In 1981, she sang the summer hit "Maracaibo";[1] as of 2017 she is still known for this album.[2]

In 2016 Lou Colombo produced "Basta (Enough)", a project against violence and femicide.

In 2017, she published Controcorrente, a tribute album to Gabriella Ferri.
