- ^ Postage stamps of Abkhazia are not recognized by the Universal Postal Union and can only be used for postage inside Abkhazia.[3]
- ^ These stamps, issued as a pair – a play on Marx–Lenin – do not appear in catalogues of Abkhazian stamps, and were perhaps issued by opportunistic companies pretending to act on behalf of Abkhazia.[3]
