List of light deities
A light deity is a god or goddess in mythology associated with light. The following is a list of light deities in various mythologies.
Celtic mythology
- Belenus – a god syncretized with Apollo.
- Belisama – goddess of lakes and rivers, fire, crafts, and light
- Lugh- god of the Tuatha De Danaan, associated with light (see also Lleu Llaw Gyffes, "bright one with the strong hand")
- Sulis- celtic sun goddess
Egyptian mythology
Greek mythology
- Aether – primarily associated with upper air but associated with light in Hesiod's Theogony
- Apollo – god of music, poetry, art, oracles, archery, plague, medicine, sun, light, and knowledge
- Hyperion – a Titan associated with watchfulness, wisdom, and light; sometimes conflated with his son Helios
- Theia - Titaness of sight and the shining light of the clear blue sky. She is the consort of Hyperion, and mother of Helios, Selene, and Eos
