The Chinese Ambassador to Kiribati is the official representative of the Government of the Republic of China in Taipei to the Government of Kiribati, and is based in Bairiki, Tarawa. From 1980 to 2003, Kiribati maintained diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China, but these were severed by the PRC when Kiribati established relations with Taiwan in 2003.
