List of Wolfmother members

Wolfmother are an Australian hard rock band from Sydney, New South Wales. Formed in 2000,[1] the band originally included vocalist and guitarist Andrew Stockdale, bassist and keyboardist Chris Ross, and drummer Myles Heskett, the three of whom had been jamming together for a number of years before the band's first public performance in 2004.[2] The group released their self-titled debut studio album Wolfmother in Australia in 2005, and internationally the following year.[3][4] The founding lineup remained until August 2008, when Ross and Heskett left the band due to "irreconcilable personal and musical differences".[5] After a brief hiatus, Stockdale returned in 2009 with bassist and keyboardist Ian Peres, rhythm guitarist Aidan Nemeth, and drummer Dave Atkins.[6] The new lineup's only album Cosmic Egg was released in October that year.[7] In April 2010, it was announced that Atkins had left Wolfmother to "spend much-needed time at home with his family", and that he would be replaced by Will Rockwell-Scott.[8]

The band began working on their third studio album in early 2011.[9] However, around a year later it was reported that both Nemeth and Rockwell-Scott had left the group, with Vin Steele and Hamish Rosser replacing the departed members, respectively, while multi-instrumentalist Elliott Hammond was added on keyboards and percussion.[10][11] The following year, frontman Stockdale announced that he was ceasing use of the Wolfmother moniker and releasing the band's third effort, Keep Moving, under his own name.[12] This move was reversed just a few months later, however, as the band returned.[13] Rosser left the group later in the year and Hammond moved over drums, before he left the group a few months later, at which point Steele took over on drums.[14] Wolfmother's third album New Crown was released in March 2014.[15]

Wolfmother released fourth album Victorious in early 2016, which featured Stockdale and Peres in addition to session drummers Josh Freese and Joey Waronker.[16] The group toured in support of the album with drummer Alex Carapetis,[17] who was replaced by the returning Rosser in 2017. On 14 April 2018, Wolfmother played Mojo Festival with Cosmic Egg era drummer Dave Atkins on guitar, Jake Bennet from "Hobomagic" on bass and an unknown keyboardist[18]. Longtime bassist/keyboardist Ian Peres was absent because of touring commitments with Xavier Rudd.[19][20]. On 4 May Wolfmother debuted with yet another new lineup, with newcomers Lachy Doley on keyboards and Brad Heald (ex-The Vines) on bass.
