List of National Football League head coaches with 50 wins

Don Shula, the all-time leader in regular season wins by a head coach, addresses troops on the USS Ronald Reagan
George Halas was the all-time leader in regular season wins for decades, recording all his victories with the Chicago Bears.

In professional American football, the National Football League (NFL) gives the head coach credit for his team's win–loss record. As of the 2017 season, 102 coaches, about 20%, have won 50 or more games.[1]

At the time of the 1970 NFL–AFL merger, George Halas, head coach, founder and owner of the Chicago Bears, held the record for most wins as a head coach. He retired from coaching after the 1967 season with 324 wins, including six playoff wins. Twenty-eight years later, Halas was surpassed by Don Shula. Shula retired at the end of the 1995 season, after amassing 328 regular season wins and 19 playoff wins.

Coaches with 50 or more wins

This sortable table shows the top NFL coaches in order of total wins. The table also shows every team for which he was a head coach. If two coaches have the same number of wins, the coach with the higher winning percentage is ranked first.

Bill Belichick is the current active leader in regular season wins by a head coach.
Mike Tomlin has not had a losing season record as head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

When sorting teams, coaches are listed in order of wins for that team.
