List of LGBT-related films directed by women

This is a list of lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender-related films that were directed by women. LGBT – and in particular, lesbian movies – directed by women are an important and distinct subset of that genre.[1] Academics have studied the issue of how women as directors contribute to the way lesbian stories have been told.[2][3][4] LGBT media—and to some extent the mainstream—have pointed out the difference a "female gaze" brings to a film.[5][6][7][8] Telefilms and documentaries are included in the list.
