Bill Dyer confronts the local auctioneer, Giles Sutton, accusing him of rigging the livestock market (organising, or permitting, the four dominant buyers of livestock to take turns at bidding, leading to low prices). In frustration, he smashes two car windscreens, and during his arrest, he explains the rigged market to Mike Bradley (as above). Fortunately, the two car owners do not press charges (one preferring compensation). And Mike decides to investigate the auction process. This leads to Mike being accused of "accepting" a bribe from Mr Sutton, and CID getting involved.
