Season 6
On May 10, 2018, it was announced that Fox had officially cancelled Brooklyn Nine-Nine.[113][114] Following the announcement, other networks including Netflix, Hulu, and TBS expressed interest in picking up the series for a sixth season.[115][116] However, it was later announced that all three networks declined to pick up the series.[117][118] Various Change.org petitions for a renewal were started, and received overwhelming support.[119] A hashtag supporting the renewal of the series also became the number one trend on Twitter.[120] On May 11, 2018, the day after the announcement of its cancellation, NBC officially picked up the series for a 18-episode sixth season.[121][122] An NBC executive stated about the series, "Ever since we sold this show to Fox I've regretted letting it get away, and it's high time it came back to its rightful home."[123] All current main cast members are expected to return for the sixth season,[124] which is set to premiere in the middle of the 2018–19 television season.[125] On September 7, 2018, NBC ordered 5 additional episodes for the season, increasing the episode total to 18.[126]
