Notes

  4. The 1902 Copa de la Coronación was won by Club Bizcaya, a team made up of players from Athletic Club and Bilbao FC. In 1903 these two clubs merged as Athletic Club. The 1902 cup is on display in the Athletic museum[1] and the club includes it in its own honours list. However LFP and RFEF official statistics do not regard this as an official edition of the Copa del Rey won by Athletic.[2]
  5. In the 1917–18 North Championship, Athletic 'retired from the competition once finalised'.[3] after finishing top of the table.
  6. The 1938–39 Biscay Championship was won by Bilbao Athletic, a makeshift squad formed by the club.[4]
  7. In the 1924–25 Biscay Championship, Arenas Club de Getxo won a playoff 2–1 against Athletic after both finished level on points.[5]
