Lisa Taddeo is an American writer and journalist. She won a 2017 Pushcart Prize for her short story 42, published in the New England Review.[1][2][3] Suburban Weekend, published in Granta won a 2019 Pushcart Prize.[4]
Writing
Taddeo's work has appeared in The Best American Political Writing and The Best American Sports Writing anthologies.[5][6] Taddeo was an associate editor at Golf Magazine when David Granger assigned her first piece for Esquire, The Last Days of Heath Ledger,[7] after reading her unpublished novel.[8] In 2015 The Washington Post named her New York Magazine piece, Rachel Uchitel is Not A Madam,[9] one of their top five long reads that stand the test of time.[10] In 2013 she appeared in Esquire Network's 80th Anniversary special.[11] She was awarded the William Holodnok Fiction Prize and the Florence Engel Randall Award in fiction.[12]
She is currently at work on a non-fiction book for Simon and Schuster.[13]
Early life and education
Taddeo completed her MFA in fiction at Boston University.[14] Her mother was born in Italy.[15] Her father died in a car accident.[16] She is married with a child.[17]
