Line 1 of the Ürümqi Metro is a subway line in Ürümqi running from Balou to International Airport, currently it has 12 stations and is 16.56 kilometres (10.29 mi) long. It was to begin operations on 8 July 2018 currently the northern section is under debugging and trial runs.[1]

History

The 26.5-kilometre long, 21-station initial phase of the line commenced construction on March 2014.[2] Tunneling works were completed on December 2017. The northern section of Line 1 will become operational by 8 July 2018.[1]
